We kick off with DAB.bio, which develops and deploys cutting-edge fermentation technology.
Why did DAB.bio choose to join Planet B.io?
DAB.bio is a spinout from TU Delft, so we wanted to stay close to where we could always have easy access to the knowledge and support of our founders. In 2019, we grew too large for Yes!Delft. At that point, Planet B.io was a natural go-to place for us, with its promise of a thriving biotech community, excellent joint facilities, and the biomanufacturing vibe - all in one location.
What benefits of Planet B.io surprised you the most?
The easy interaction with staff from other companies, via the joint facilities. For example: as a startup, it can sometimes be difficult to have access to certain information or equipment. Thanks to the collaborative environment fostered by Planet B.io, this was a lot easier.

What challenges do you still face as a company?
Commercial traction and fundraising remain the key challenges for any deep tech company with long go-to market timelines, and we are no exception.
What do you like most about our community?
Planet B.io is a great environment filled with passionate people working on innovative and impactful technologies. It’s easy to ask questions to the community, and receive help and support in turn. Further, there are events which facilitate more interaction between community members as well as external stakeholders so there is the opportunity for building collaborations and partnerships. And it’s not always business – there are always fun events, too!
